Yearbook Pose Selection Requirements
Yearbook photos must follow specific guidelines to maintain a consistent look across the school yearbook.
K–11th Grade
For standard K–11th grade school photos, yearbook poses must be seated, close-up poses using the school's pre-selected background.
Standing poses may still be available to view and purchase, but they are not used as full standing images for yearbook photos. A standing pose may be selected and later cropped inward by our team to create the appropriate close-up composition and maintain a consistent look with the other yearbook photos.
High School Seniors
Senior yearbook pose requirements vary by school. Be sure to read the information in the yellow box in your photo gallery for instructions on which poses are eligible for yearbook selection.
Depending on your school, eligible poses may include options such as tux/drape or cap & gown.
Photos containing props cannot be selected for yearbook use.
How Long Do I Have to Choose?
Generally, you have two days from the time your proof email is sent to make your yearbook pose selection.
If you do not make a selection within that timeframe, the default pose will be selected for you. The default is generally the first pose that appears in your sequence of photos.
If you missed the selection deadline, you can still contact Customer Service to see if there is time to make a different selection. When contacting us, please provide the image number of your preferred pose or a photo/screenshot showing the image and image number you would like used instead.
Why Does It Say My Selection Is Not Eligible?
If you receive a message saying that your selected photo is not eligible for yearbook use, first check whether you selected a "Choose Your Own Background" image.
These images typically have a checkered background and cannot be selected for yearbook use. Instead, choose an eligible photo using your school's pre-selected background.
If your selected image does not have a "Choose Your Own Background" or checkered background and you still receive an eligibility error, please contact Customer Service for assistance.
When contacting us, please provide the image number of the photo you are trying to select or a photo/screenshot showing the image and image number. This will help our team determine why the selection is being rejected.
