Can Parents Watch or Help During the Session?

Whether parents are permitted to watch or assist during picture day depends on the type of photography event and the location.

School Picture Days

For most school picture days, parents are not permitted in the photography area. Students are photographed during the school day under the supervision of school staff, and only authorized personnel are allowed in the photography area.

If your school utilizes parent volunteers to assist with picture day, those volunteers may help students with simple tasks such as straightening clothing or fixing hair before they are photographed.

If you are interested in being a parent volunteer and helping out on picture day, be sure to contact your school as soon as possible to see how to sign up.

Sports Picture Days

Parents are generally welcome to accompany their athlete to sports picture day. However, to help keep the event running on schedule, we ask that parents allow our photographers to direct the session whenever possible.

Our photographers are experienced in posing athletes and capturing natural expressions. Too many directions from multiple people at once can be distracting and may make it more difficult for the athlete to focus.

If you do help your child before their photo is taken, please keep adjustments brief so our photographers can stay on time and ensure the flow of the day is not delayed.

Once the session begins, we ask that you allow our photographers to guide your child through the posing process.

Thank you for helping us create a smooth and enjoyable picture day for everyone!
