Why Did My Child Smile Differently Than They Do at Home?
It's very common for children to smile differently during professional photos than they do at home—and that's perfectly normal!
Many children become a little shy or serious when they step in front of a camera, especially in a busy school or sports environment with people they don't know.
Our photographers work hard to help each child feel comfortable by offering encouragement, giving simple directions, and creating a fun, positive experience. However, every child responds differently, and we can't always recreate the exact smile you may see at home.
How You Can Help
A little preparation before picture day can make a big difference. We recommend:
- Talking with your child about picture day beforehand.
- Practicing their smile together at home.
- Encouraging them to listen to the photographer's instructions.
- Letting them know picture day is meant to be fun and doesn't need to be stressful.
Children who know what to expect often feel more relaxed and confident when it's their turn.
We Capture Natural Expressions
Our goal is to capture each child's personality while making the experience enjoyable. Some children give a big grin, others offer a softer smile, and some prefer a more natural expression.
These differences are completely normal and are part of what makes every portrait unique.
