What Is a Sitting Fee?

A sitting is a scheduled photography session reserved specifically for you. During a sitting, our photographers take a variety of professional portraits, often including multiple poses, backgrounds, or outfit changes depending on the session you selected.

A sitting fee is the fee charged for the photography session itself. It covers the photographer's time, setup, equipment, and the process of capturing your images.

Does the Sitting Fee Include Prints or Digital Downloads?

Not typically.

The sitting fee covers the photography session only. Prints, digital downloads, and other photo products are typically purchased separately unless they are specifically included in the sitting you selected.

When selecting your sitting you may be offered to upgrade to a sitting that includes a discounted download for an additional cost. Should you opt to go with the upgrade, you should later receive a voucher code to redeem the discounted download on our website.

Which Sessions Have a Sitting Fee?

Ultimate Exposures only charges sitting fees for our formal portrait sessions, such as:

  • High School Senior Portrait Sessions
  • College Cap & Gown Portrait Sessions

These sessions require reserved appointment times and often include multiple poses, backgrounds, outfit changes, and a longer photography experience.

Do School or Sports Picture Days Have a Sitting Fee?

No.

There is no sitting fee for our school picture days, youth sports picture days, graduation ceremonies, or other volume photography events.

For these events, there is no obligation to purchase photos. You simply place an order if you decide you would like to purchase prints, digital downloads, or other photo products after viewing your proofs.
