Why Doesn't My School or Staff ID Match My Yearbook Pose Selection?

If the photo on your school ID or staff ID is different from the pose you selected for the yearbook, this is usually because the ID cards were ordered before your yearbook pose selection was finalized.

Why Are IDs Ordered So Quickly?

Schools need student and staff ID cards as soon as possible at the beginning of the school year. To help ensure IDs are produced and distributed on time, student and staff ID cards are typically ordered 1–2 days after Picture Day.

Because of this quick turnaround, your yearbook pose selection may not have been completed yet when the ID order was submitted.

What About My Yearbook Selection?

Your proof email may state that you have two days to make your yearbook pose selection. In many cases, the selection period may remain open a little longer.

You may also continue to see the option to select a yearbook pose on the website even after school or staff IDs have already been ordered. Seeing the selection option does not mean your ID has not already been submitted for production.

Will My Yearbook Selection Change My ID?

No. Once student or staff IDs have been ordered, a later yearbook pose selection will not change the photo already submitted for the ID.

Can I Make Sure My ID and Yearbook Photos Are the Same?

If you would like your school or staff ID photo and yearbook photo to be the same, you may want to make your yearbook pose selection at the end of your portrait session.

When possible, photographers can set your selected image as your default pose onsite. This helps ensure that the image submitted for your ID and the image intended for your yearbook are the same.

Please keep in mind that this option may not be available for every event, so be sure to ask your photographer during your session if you would like to use this option.
