What is Retouching?

Retouching is an optional enhancement service we offer to help customers look and feel their best in their final images. Our lab and production team focuses on natural-looking editing that maintain the customer’s true appearance while removing requested distractions. 

We offer the following levels of retouching: 

• Basic Retouching – Light touch-ups such as smoothing minor blemishes, softening under-eye shadows, reducing shine, and evening skin tone. 
• Premium/Advanced Retouching – More detailed enhancements including flyaway removal, stronger skin smoothing, and more extensive corrections upon request. 
• Specialized Edits – Case-by-case adjustments such as braces removal, stain cleanup on clothing, or other custom requests (approved and quoted by Monica at our lab). 

When Retouching Is Automatically Applied 

Retouching is automatically applied in situations where it is included as part of the customer’s purchase or package, as well as specified yearbook poses.  Examples include: 

• Packages or digital products that specifically include retouching. 
• Any order in which the customer intentionally selects and pays for a retouching service. 
• High School Senior yearbook selections will be given our exclusive UE Deluxe Finishing to reduce any blemishes, whiten teeth and eyes, and reduce stray hairs. If you have already ordered retouching on the selected image, we will use that image. 
• College & University yearbook selections will receive an automated soft retouching that slightly smooths skin tones, prior to submission to the yearbook producer. 

UE guarantees that all retouching will address the stated areas (i.e. face, neck, blemishes, etc.,). 

Our goal is to make the customer look their best, while still looking like him or herself.

Retouching services require dedicated labor and time from the Production Team; therefore, retouching fees are non-refundable once the work has been completed. However, if the retouched image does not meet customer expectations, we are always happy to make reasonable adjustments at no additional cost.
