Why Pricing Differs Between School Photos and Senior Portraits
Pricing for regular school photos and high school senior portraits differs because the time, staffing, and production requirements for each type of session are significantly different.
Regular school photo days typically require only 1–3 staff members, and each student is photographed for approximately 1–3 minutes. These sessions are streamlined: there are no outfit changes and generally only one camera station with 1-2 lines, allowing a large number of students to be photographed efficiently.
Senior portrait sessions, however, are much more involved. They require additional staffing and often include multiple photography stations, that students rotate through. Students frequently have one or more outfit changes, may take retakes on the spot, and select their yearbook pose during the session. On the production end, ultimate retouching is automatically applied to the image selected for the yearbook only. Because of these added elements, each senior session typically lasts 20–30+ minutes, depending on the sitting option selected.
Due to the increased time, staffing, and production involved, senior portrait sessions are priced differently from standard school photo days.
*If you place an order, retouching must still be selected during ordering if you would like it applied to purchased any of the images.
